The Gunners' philosophy places emphasis on the development of fundamental skills and techniques from which every player reaches their potential as a "total soccer player". Our goal is for each player to develop into the very best player possible. By training players to possess the skills of "complete ball-mastery" they are being developed for the top collegiate and above standards.

The Gunners' development program is designed to provide a series of stages based upon possession soccer rather than "kick and run" soccer. This long-term process often sacrifices "success on the pitch" at the younger levels in order for proven player development towards the college level and beyond.

"Kick and run", physical power soccer may produce more wins in a players' younger years, but does little to prepare them for top competitive levels. The Bakersfield Gunners equals total player development with class. We are committed to this long-term process of player development.
